Meta AI is Meta’s assistant across its apps, the web and a standalone app for conversation, search, voice and image creation.

1 · What it is

Meta AI is not only a chatbot page; it is an assistant distributed through Meta’s products and devices. It can appear inside messaging and social apps, on the web, in its standalone app and alongside Meta glasses.

The standalone app is built around talking out loud, and it also handles image creation and editing. Meta AI can remember details and, where available, draw on information a person chose to share on Meta products.

Meta’s own Muse models now sit behind it. Muse Spark made the assistant smarter, and Muse Image handles picture generation inside Meta AI.

Memory is yours to manage: it only covers one-to-one chats, and you can delete what Meta AI has remembered at any time. Since 16 December 2025, Meta can use what you ask its AI to tune the posts and ads it recommends to you.

3 · How it works

Follow a request through Meta AI.

Meta AI context workflowA text or voice request starts in a Meta app, the web or the Meta AI app. Meta AI adds context: remembered details from one-to-one chats and information the person chose to share on Meta products. It then answers, searches the web or creates an image, and replies in place. A chat started on Meta glasses can be picked up later in the app or web history.
