Gemini is Google’s AI app: you ask questions, upload files for answers and summaries, and can have it research a topic across many sources.

1 · What it is

Gemini Apps can combine a prompt with uploaded material, connected services and Google Search.

For a quick request, that may mean reading a file and answering in the chat. For a broader question, Deep Research can propose a plan, search selected sources and assemble a report.

Those sources are choices, not a promise that every answer is complete. With large uploads, Gemini can miss links or details, so check its answer against your material and split big files when you can.

2 · Why it exists

A useful answer often depends on context outside the prompt.
