Claude-Mem is an open-source plugin that gives AI coding agents such as Claude Code a memory that lasts from one working session to the next.
In plain words
While you work, it records what the agent does with its tools, uses AI to boil those notes down into short summaries, and feeds the relevant parts into later sessions. The notes are kept in a SQLite database, and a Chroma vector database helps find them by meaning. You can ask in plain words, for example which bugs were fixed last time, and the agent searches its memory. It is released under the Apache 2.0 licence.
A quick example
Imagine you spend Monday fixing a login bug with a coding agent. On Wednesday you open a new session and ask how the fix worked, and the agent answers from its saved notes instead of rereading the whole project.
Where you'll meet it
- Keeping project knowledge across coding-agent sessions.
- Searching a project's past work in plain language.
